Most digital marketing agencies are experts at understanding the needs of Google, Facebook etc – if they weren’t, they wouldn’t be agencies. But there’s couple of fundamental things that are missing:
Results – the marketers judge the effectiveness of the ad by the wrong standards. If someone clicks on the ad, they take that as a success, rather than making sure that click turns into something you can actually sell! That’s why your marketing results look so good on paper, but there’s no cash in the till.
Strategy – there’s no clear business strategy and process from the initial ad, the placement, and then the conversion method. Most ads simply “push to your home page”, which often means they’re not set up for success. Each ad needs to be carefully understood and planned properly in order to be successful.
Design – the majority of digital marketing nerds (we have them too!), are great at understanding what Google thinks they should prioritise in their search, but they don’t have an eye for design, which is vital when it comes to catching someone’s attention with a visual ad. It’s not their skill set – so it makes sense that they don’t know how to do that.
